The July 4th celebrations in McCall begin on July 4th all over town. From July 4th-July 7th, 2024, McCall’s Brundage Mountain and Legacy Park will be full of activities, vendors and live music.

The beauty of McCall in the summer months is that you could visit anytime in July and experience its gorgeous weather. But if you want to visit during the July 4th celebration, this weekend really showcases the town in all its outdoor adventure glory.

Thursday, July 4th

  • Enjoy vendors from July 4th to July 7th in Legacy Park.
  • Choose your wellness adventure! Spike up your morning with a volleyball tournament, find your inner zen at the park’s yoga session, or lace up your running shoes for Brundage Mountain’s 4th of July Cat Track 10k/5k Race, all starting at 10:00 am.
  • 10:15 am to 5:00 pm, enjoy free live music in the Brundage Mountain base area. Food and drinks will be available in the plaza and at Smoky’s.

Friday, July 5th

  • 9:00 am Pilates In Legacy Park, led by McCall Pilates Studio.

Boat rentals are widely available if you don’t have your own. Hiking and biking trails abound, winding through scenic forests on Brundage Mountain, offering stunning views. If you’re looking for a challenge, whitewater rafting on the North Fork of the Payette River is an option.

Head to the Festival

As for the Fourth of July festivities, McCall goes all out! The town’s annual Lakeside Liberty Fest features live music, food vendors, a parade, and fireworks over Payette Lake. Brundage Mountain also has its own set of celebrations, including a music festival and a scenic chairlift ride to watch the fireworks.

Soak Up the Sun At Legacy Park

Legacy Park, situated near the downtown shopping area of McCall, Idaho, is a great place to spend a summer holiday. Legacy Park has a sandy beach area that’s perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun.

You can also take a dip in the cool, refreshing water of Payette Lake. Keep in mind that it’s an enclosed swimming area with no lifeguards on duty. A sand volleyball court is available if you’re feeling energetic.

Pack a ball and challenge your friends or family to a game! There are plenty of picnic tables scattered around the park, perfect for enjoying a relaxing lunch or dinner outdoors.

Go Boating

If you have a boat, Legacy Park has a public boat ramp where you can launch it for a day of exploring Payette Lake. Something to keep in mind when planning your Fourth of July festivities is that McCall City Council has instituted a ban on bringing alcohol to lakefront parks.

The rule goes into effect on July 3 at 8:00 pm and runs through July 5 at 8:00 am every year. The city will post signs at least 24 hours before with restriction reminders.

Visit Brundage Mountain

For many reasons, Brundage Mountain in McCall, Idaho, is a great place to visit during the Fourth of July holiday. The weather in July is beautiful on the mountain, with average highs in the upper 70s Fahrenheit and lows in the mid-40s to low 50s Fahrenheit.
